Beauty queen Jehza Huelar opens up on miscarriage

Former beauty queen Jehza Huelar surprised many admitting to having a miscarriage prior to her and retired basketball star PJ Simon becoming parents recently. According to her, she never thought it would come to a point where she has to actually come out in the open with it. “Akala ko the 1st photo will forever be kept in my phone unshared,” she wrote on Instagram. She said she should have delivered the baby last January, relating when she announced her pregnancy during PJ’s birthday, she was already seven weeks along the way. “But destiny has a way to challenge our faith. It was mid-June when I was rushed to the hospital because of heavy bleeding. In my mind, I already knew what was about to transpire. And it happened. We lost our baby.” Jehza said their doctor advised them not to try again at least in the next three months after her miscarriage, to make sure that her next pregnancy is successful. “We couldn’t comprehend,” she said, adding the pain they felt was “unbearable.” More than the physical pain, the emotional pain of seeing her husband cry was “incomparable.” “So many whys but we surrendered everything to the Lord. We cried our heart out. We put our faith in. And we tried to move on.” “Not counting the days, six weeks have turned to two months… so I went back to my OB to have myself checked. And the answered prayer was there. GOD HAS HEARD. I am pregnant again — unexpectedly,” she detailed. “Hearing the news, PJ and I knew we have to take care of this precious gift so we decided to remove unnecessary stress life is giving us. We had our OB Doctor clearance processed and hurriedly went back to Mindanao for a fresh state of mind.” “Five months later, after the gender reveal, two rainbows showed up (one was not clear and it disappeared right away) ~ he is our miracle, rainbow baby. A very valuable gift from God.” In the end, she said, “Always remember: God will never take away something from you without the intention of replacing it with something better. You just have to keep the faith.” Last March 1, at exactly 12:40 pm, Jehza gave birth to Peter Jeidon Simon, who weighed 3.045 kilograms.
