Another Negros mayor catches COVID
BACOLOD CITY – Another local chief executive in Negros Occidental tested positive for COVID-19.
The city government of Sipalay confirmed that Mayor Maria Gina Lizares has been infected even if she has been adhering to protocols and been very conscious of her actions as government servant.
She said she had mild symptoms of COVID-19 such as cough and runny nose.
But she is stable and active as of this time.
Lizares appealed to everyone to be more careful, more cooperative, and serious about the fight against COVID-19.
“We work to make everyone safe, but as you know, more and more of us are also being infected because like you, our bodies also have limitations, we get weak due to circumstances beyond our control,” the lady mayor said.
Lizares is the fourth mayor in the province who have contracted the virus.
