Penitential walk against COVID-19

- By CHRISTINA HERMOSO

The Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa in Palawan held a penitential walk for protection against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Puerto Princesa, Palawan Bishop Socrates Mesiona led the walk to cap the annual retreat of the clergy of the Apostolic Vicariate.

“The purpose of our penitential walk is to ask for God’s intervention for an end to this health crisis. This has been going on for quite some time now. It has been almost two years. Let us humbly pray for God’s mercy to help us and for our lives to finally get back to normal,” Mesiona said.

The penitential walk was not open to the public as a safety health measure. Participants to the four-day retreat were also divided into two groups to limit the number of attendees.

A holy mass was also held at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
