Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has sustained his “sizable” lead over Vice President Leni Robredo in the final PUBLiCUS Asia pre-election survey results released on Friday, May 6.

The results of the nationwide survey conducted from May 2 to 5 with 1,500 registered voter-respondents have shown that Marcos’ voter preference dipped from a peak of 57 percent during the third week of April 2022, to 54 percent in the first week of May 2022, but his current mark is still in line with his longer term average.

Still in second place is Robredo with a voter preference of 22 percent in May — up by one percent from 21 percent in April.

PUBLiCUS said Marcos led Robredo by “large margins” in Northern and Central Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

However, they were both statistically tied in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Southern Luzon.

“Although it should be noted that the 12-point gap between them in SL (Southern Luzon) meets the outer limit of the +/-6 percent margin of error applicable to the regional grouping,” it pointed out.

Moreover, PUBLiCUS said Marcos was polling “above average” in Classes D and E.

He also remained the most popular choice in Class ABC, though by a smaller margin over Robredo.

Meanwhile, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso came in 3rd with eight percent.

Three other presidential candidates received up to four percent of the voter preference — Senator Panfilo Lacson (four percent), Senator Manny Pacquiao (two percent), and former Palace spokesperson Ernesto Abella (one percent).

Meanwhile, six percent of the respondents were still undecided.

Marcos’ running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, has also maintained her sizable lead over the rest of the vice-presidential candidates with 59 percent of the voter preference. In second place is Senator Francis Pangilinan with 16 percent.

PUBLiCUS said that Duterte held large leads over Pangilinan in all regional groups except NCR, where they were statistically tied.

It also noted that Duterte held large leads in Northern and Central Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

While her lead in Southern Luzon is relatively narrower, it is still substantial at more than 20 percent, it added.

Meanwhile, in third place were Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Doc Willie Ong, each with nine percent of voter preference.

Buhay party-list Rep. Lito Atienza got one percent of voter's preference.

Four percent of the respondents were still undecided, while one percent have not selected any candidate from the list.
