Hot and humid weather will persist with chances of rain showers and thunderstorms over most parts of the country this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday afternoon, May 13.

In its extended weather outlook for key areas from May 14 to 17, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 33-35 degrees Celsius (°C) in Metro Manila, 33-35°C in Tuguegarao City, 23-25°C in Baguio City, 31-33°C in Tagaytay City, 32-33°C in Puerto Princesa City, 32-33°C in Metro Cebu, 3233°C in Metro Davao, and 32-33°C in Zamboanga City.

However, PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant as severe thunderstorms that may occur in the afternoon or evening could trigger flash floods or landslides.

By Monday until Wednesday,

May 16 to 18, PAGASA said the frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Calayan.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience hot and humid weather but with chances of afternoon or evening rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

By Thursday until Friday, May 19 to 20, Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers because of the brewing southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from afternoon or evening rain showers or thunderstorms.

“Throughout the outlook period, no tropical cyclone development is expected. Updates through weather advisories will be issued if there will be significant changes in the weather scenario,” PAGASA said.
