GMA Integrated News delivers live coverage from Israel, Egypt

-

GMA Integrated News (GMAIN) transcends borders and further affirms its “Mas Malaking Misyon, Mas Malawak na Paglilingkod” – standing at the forefront as the first Philippine news organization to deliver live and exclusive reports straight from the Middle East in the Israel-hamas conflict.

Through the bravery and unwavering dedication of GMAIN broadcast journalists JP Soriano, Raffy Tima, and Kim Sorra, as well as the whole Integrated News team back home, GMAIN has been providing the public with live coverage from Tel Aviv, Israel and Cairo, Egypt.

Soriano and Sorra share the stories of Filipinos in Israel, a country that is considered ground zero of the Hamas attack last Oct. 7. GMA Integrated News was the only news team not just from the Philippines but also from Asia that had the exclusive opportunity to visit the site of the Super Nova Festival massacre where hundreds, including a Filipina, died. Another GMAIN exclusive was the visit to the kibbutz or Israeli communities where the Hamas attacked and killed many, including two other Filipinos. The GMAIN team also experienced Israel's missile warnings several times and had to rush to the nearest bunker or bomb shelter along with several locals.

GMA Integrated News was also the only Philippine media to interview in person Filipina caregiver Camille Jesalva who was recognized by the Israeli government for her heroism when she gave up all the money that she had to the Hamas so that she and her 95-year old employer would be spared. GMA Integrated News also had exclusive coverage of the emotional memorial service in Israel for fallen Filipino caregiver Paul Castelvi who was killed while protecting the elderly he was taking care of. GMAIN also had an exclusive interview with Joey Pagsolingan who was hurt but fortunately survived the attack. Even before reaching Tel Aviv, the GMAIN team was already able to interview the Hamas attack.

Over at the Palestine side, working as a one-man team in Egypt, Tima provides updates on Filipinos in Gaza who are waiting to cross over to safety. Tima tells the story of a Filipina and her Palestinian husband desperately waiting for the Rafah border to open.

“Behind the statistics and geopolitical analyses, news reports put a human face on the impact of wars and conflicts. Stories of courage, resilience, and survival amidst adversity inspire empathy and solidarity, fostering a sense of shared humanity. These narratives remind us that every casualty is a person with dreams, aspirations, and loved ones left behind. GMA Integrated News (GMAIN) proudly stands at the forefront as the first and only Philippine news organization to report live from Tel Aviv, Israel, and Cairo, Egypt – diligently covering the Israel-gaza developments, especially Filipinos' plight. As we navigate the complexities of global affairs, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering news that transcends borders and connects our Filipino audience to the world's pulse,” said GMA Network Senior Vice President for Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.

As the News Authority ng Filipino, GMAIN keeps the public updated throughout the day via its various award-winning newscasts 24 Oras, 24 Oras Weekend, and Saksi, as well as GTV’S Balita Ko, State of the Nation, Dobol B TV, and Regional TV News.
