₱200,000 reward offered for info on student’s killer

ILIGAN CITY — The city government headed by Mayor Frederick Siao and the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) led by Police Col. Reinante delos Santos have offered a ₱200,000 reward for informatio­n leading to the suspect in the killing of a senior high school student here before All Saints’ Day.

Victim Kiara Alyanah Camelotes Pansacala was found dead inside her room on November 1 by her uncle. Police said there were indication­s that Pansacala was raped.

Siao condemned the brutal incident and ordered the police to solve the crime and arrest the perpetrato­r immediatel­y.

“Isip amahan sa dakbayan ug isip usa usab ka amahan, dili gyud nato madawat ang nahitabo ni Kiara, ang brutal nga panghitabo. Kinahangla­n mohatag tag assistance ug ang justice nga gipangayo sa pamilya (As the father of this city and as a father as well, we couldn’t accept what happen to Kiara and the brutality of the act. We must provide assistance and the justice that the family is asking for),” said Siao.

Aside from the reward, Siao also provided burial and legal assistance to the family of Kiara for the filing of a case.

Iligan City Police Office 5 chief Police Major Felix Rabago Jr. said they have identified a person of interest but are still gathering more evidence through the autopsy of the victim and the dioxyribon­ucleic acid sample of the suspect which they gathered at the crime scene.

Ching Camelotes, mother of Kiara, thanked those who condoled with their family and vowed assistance to solve the crime.

She thanked Siao for offering the reward. "Sa side ni Mayor, iyang gisulti sa akoa ang assistance sa funeral, sila nay bahala sa akong abogado ug dili pasagdan ang kaso, siya gihapon ang maningkamo­t Aron madali ang lihok (On the mayor's side, he told me about the funeral assistance, they will take care of my lawyer and the case will not be neglected and will try to hasten the process),” Ching said.
