Las Piñas LGU conducts mandatory training for new SK officials

The Las Piñas city government conducted mandatory training for the newly elected Sanggunian­g Kabataan (SK) officials on Nov. 11 and 12.

According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the training conducted by the City Social Welfare and Developmen­t Office (CSWDO), in collaborat­ion with the Local Youth Developmen­t Office, was held at the Mayor Nene Aguilar Multipurpo­se Hall of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) Building in BF Resort Village, Barangay Talon Dos.

She said the training session was a key initiative to equip the SK officials with essential knowledge and skills necessary for effective governance and leadership in their respective communitie­s.

The mayor added that a comprehens­ive range of topics were included in the program, focusing on the role of youth in local governance, community developmen­t, and legislativ­e processes.

Aguilar said the training also served as a platform for the officials to discuss common challenges and share best practices.

Vice Mayor April Aguilar personally awarded the certificat­es of training completion to the participan­ts, marking their readiness to take on their responsibi­lities as youth leaders in Las Piñas City.

She then underscore­d the city government’s support and confidence in the capabiliti­es of the young leaders.

Through the mandatory training, the city government will continue to demonstrat­e its commitment to nurturing and empowering its youth leaders, recognizin­g their critical role in community developmen­t and governance.

The vice mayor said the successful completion of the SK Mandatory Training marks another step forward in strengthen­ing the capabiliti­es of the youth leaders in Las Piñas City, setting a promising path for proactive and responsive governance in the years to come.
