Lucio Tan Group’s Philippine National Bank (PNB) is planning to improve and revamp the PNB Digital App to make it “highly reliable” with a more “secure platform” for faster and easier mobile banking services.

In a statement, PNB President Florido Casuela said its award-winning PNB Digital App which recently surpassed the one million mark for registered users, has an ongoing campaign “that reinforces the bank's position in mobile banking.”

"With a strong focus on client experience, embracing innovation, and delivering better outcomes, Filipinos can rely on PNB as we continuously provide excellent service through innovative, convenient and secure banking," he said.

For his part, PNB Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Innovations Group Damasen Cid said for the bank, “delivering a safe, easy and reliable mobile banking experience to our customers is a big part of PNB’S strategic objectives.”

He said PNB ensures that it will “always keep abreast with fast-changing markets and technologies” to “enhance user experience, and broaden our array of relevant digital solutions.”

As part of its digital strategy, the bank has done significant improvement and changes to its mobile banking app by “shifting to a new, highly reliable and secure platform to provide an easy-to-use and intuitive banking application with 24/7 access to relevant mobile banking services and features.”

For the first nine months of the year, PNB posted consolidated net income of ₱13.5 billion, up 19 percent year-on-year due to the increase in core lending and fee-based operations.

As of end-september, the bank has consolidated assets of ₱1.18 trillion.

Last month, PNB announced that its PNB Digital App has won the “Philippines Digital Experience of the Year” award under the banking Industry category from the Asian Experience Awards 2023 of the Asian Business Review.
