On the auspicious occasion of the 53rd anniversary of Independence and National Day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. F.M. Borhan Uddin, Bangladesh Ambassador to the Philippines, hosted a reception at Mayuree Ballroom, Dusit Thani Manila on March 26, 2024.
In his message, Ambassador Uddin shared that Bangladesh is one of the fastest-growing economies in South Asia and highlighted how their GDP grew by around $460 billion.
“Bangladesh enjoys bilateral relations with the Philippines. Our relations are founded with mutual respect and many commonalities,” said Ambassador Uddin.
The ambassador added that the mutual ties between the two countries continue to strengthen through the recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for diplomatic training and research practices. He also highlighted the common interests of Bangladesh and the Philippines in the areas of climate change and migration.
“Our next vision is to make the country a developed, knowledgebased, and smart Bangladesh by 2041,” added Ambassador Uddin.
While DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus “Gary” S. Domingo shared how the sincere friendship between countries continues to prosper by following “parallel paths” with close cooperation.
“We are confident that the future of our partnership will be powered by even greater two-way trade, tourism, and investment, as we capitalize on our fast-growing economies and the dynamism and optimism of our youthful populations,” said Usec. Domingo.
