ECPAY founder to head 2024 PBC
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has appointed Electronic Commerce Payment Inc. (ECPAY) Founder Raymund Jude Aguilar as chairman of the 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), said to be the biggest annual business gathering in the country.
The conference will be held on Oct. 22 to 23 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City.
PCCI President Enunina V. Mangio appointed Aguilar, who also serves as Chamber vice president and director for International Affairs, after he received a unanimous vote for the position during an executive session.
“I am honored for the trust and at the same time excited for the job. I will do everything I can with the support of my colleagues and the hardworking secretariat to make this conference bigger, better, and bolder,” Aguilar said in a statement released by the PCCI on April 11.
Aguilar is the current director of ECPAY Inc, which is one of the largest e-payments service providers in the country with more than 500,000 touch points and outlets nationwide.
He is also a founder and director of waste management and recycling firm Recycle Plus Inc. (RPI): telco and online gaming productcs distributor GATE Distribution Enterprise, Inc.; WERRA Logistics Inc., AXIOS Ventures Inc., Genzai Corporation and Pharmaco Inc.
“We are glad that Jude accepted the challenge of leading this year’s conference. We know the task ahead is daunting but we trust in his expertise, competence, and commitment to lead and deliver, especially now that we are celebrating the golden year of PBC&E,” Mangio said.
The PBC&E is an annual event organized by the PCCI wherein business leaders, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMES); legislators, academe members, and foreign stakeholders meet and discuss issues and solutions to improve the domestic business environment.
