Sheree to bring Crazy Horse Paris experience to Manila

- By ANNALYN JUSAY

If there's a Renaissance man, artist Sheree would surely qualify as the female counterpart. Although primarily known as a Viva Hot Babe, Sheree can sing, dance, paint, act, DJ, do aerial hoops, and astound people with her pole dancing skills.

She never stops learning, but she vowed to herself to refrain from performing sexy roles. This happened after her teenage son, Gian Haley, personally appealed.

"Alam naman natin sex sells talaga, and I have nothing against it naman. Sinabihan lang ako ng anak ko: 'Mom, whatever it is you're doing, please stop.' So parang nagkaroon ako ng wake-up call," Sheree mused.

"Syempre, I'm very thankful for the opportunity na ibinigay sa akin ng Viva. I will not forget all the projects that they gave me. I just believe that it's time to change something, you know. I have to reveal the skills na inaral ko. For example, people don't really know that I sing. So I want to showcase my skills and talent," she pointed out.

The "showcase" is her May 24 concert at the Music Museum simply titled "L'art De Sheree." Her face lights up with excitement when she talks about her forthcoming show, which she is producing herself. The idea came to her after a European trip where she watched "Le Crazy Horse de Paris." It's a famous cabaret in the French capital where Blackpink's Lisa exclusively performed in 2023 because she's a fan herself.

"When I watched the show, nagulat ako, parang 'Oh my God, nakahubad silang lahat!' Pero sobrang mind-blowing kasi I forgot that they were all naked. It was really the skill that they showed and the performances. And I thought that I really want to share that to our fellow Filipinos who cannot go to Paris for some reason. It just so happened that I was given this opportunity, so I thought, why not do it myself?" the actress narrated.

Fans can't expect all-out nudity because the Philippines is a religious country, but it will definitely be a sexy, sensual show. "Yung walang suot, pero may suot," Sheree teased. Apart from the touch of Crazy Horse cabaret, "L'art De Sheree" will also be "a mix of Broadway, Cirque du Soleil, and burlesque."

"It's a very different kind of concert," she assured. The big bonus is that she will get muchneeded support from fellow Hot Babes like Zara Lopez, Gwen Garci, and Jennifer Lee, who will perform with her. Also joining Sheree is her former beau, Gian Magdangal, and one of her best friends, 80s Siboom girl Rachel Lobangco.

"I'm very excited to share this show with the Philippine market. This is something they haven't experienced before. Matagal ko nang dream ito eh. I conceptualized the show with my director, Jet Loveria, and my choreographer, Mec Jornacion. They helped me put it all together. I also produced the show because I want to make it happen," Sheree stressed.

"I want to be different from the other performers. My goal is to tour L'art De Sheree to the provinces because we don't get to see shows like this. Sanay tayo sa regular concerts," she stated.

She also believes that today's audience is ready for a titillating show like the one they have prepared. "Very open na ang kabataan ngayon for different possibilities. Very wide na ang pag-iisip nila. Okay lang sa kanila kahit merong sexy na hindi naman masyadong sobra."

(L'art De Sheree is a limited, one-night-only show at the Music Museum on Friday, May 24, at 8 p.m. Tickets are now available at ticketworld.com.ph)
