Primewater-baciwa addresses El Niño with new water infra initiatives

-

Primewater, together with Bacolod City Water District (BACIWA), recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for their upcoming water source interconnection, pipelaying project, and source activation. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve water pressure and availability across various barangays in the city.

The new pipelaying project involves constructing a transmission line spanning over 1.12 kilometers in Forbes Hills. This line will connect at the junction of Circumferential Road and Airport-silay Road to deliver around 2 million liters per day (MLD) of clean water supply, improving water pressure in the areas oferoreco, Bata, and Mandalagan.

Additionally, the activation of water source development in Highland Hills will produce an extra 2 MLD supply to be delivered to households in the Barangays of Granada and Vista Alegre.

“Primewater and BACIWA are implementing these water initiatives to ensure a more stable water supply and meet the increasing demands of our customers. Also, these projects aim to enhance water access for our residents and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable water management system,” says Primewater Branch Manager Farah Jenny Monteclaro.

The Primewater-baciwa partnership has also recently obtained a new water truck capable of storing up to three cubic meters of water. This initiative is intended to ensure continuous water service in the event of interruptions, serving as one of its efforts to address water supply challenges brought about by the ongoing El Niño phenomenon.

"This groundbreaking ceremony underscores our commitment to improving water services through the development of infrastructure aimed at ensuring a sustainable and reliable supply of clean water to our customers and we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the developers of this project," BACIWA General Manager Mona Diajardin concludes.
