Denin Sy drops another witty, poignant song

-

From the creative mind of prolific singer-songwriter Denin Sy comes another witty, poignant ditty, “Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan.” Denin is known for composing songs that tickle your funny bone and tug at your heartstrings.

Denin's repertoire is a testament to his ability to capture the essence of life's ups and downs. His songs, such as the engaging single “Sabi Mo Usap Lang”; “Pasensya Ka Na God Bless,” which received massive radio airplay; “Susuka Pero Di Susuko,” a tune that brings a smile and motivation; “Minsan Kape Minsan Ikaw,” which gained the support of a famous coffee brand; and “Charotera,” a playful and feel-good song, all resonate with experiences we've all had, making us feel understood.

Denin gained prominence during the pandemic as the “Parody King” for his comical version of the “Bioman” anthem, which received more than a million views on Facebook.

He made tons of anime and K-pop parodies and vlogs to give people the gift of laughter and positive vibes during the health crisis. The world has overcome the pandemic, though in the case of Denin’s new song “Wag Mo Na

Siyang Balikan," tackles the topic that some people might find hard to overcome: their ex.

In an interview, Denin talked about his latest single. “I co-wrote ‘Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan’ with my friend, Kenneth Abawag. The composition is kind of special and personal for the both of us because we have gone through this phase in our lives. The breakup stories we watched on ‘Expecially for You,' a segment of the noontime TV show ‘It’s Showtime’ also inspired me and Kenneth to write the song. I performed the song at a live gig and was heard by OPM hitmaker Tim Dionela. He told me that he liked the song and offered to produce it, and the rest is history.”

Denin added, “I think most people have undergone such an experience and can relate with the song: a relationship that is on the brink of a breakup because the ex of your loved one has reappeared and he or she still has feelings for that ex. You plead with your beloved not to return to that previous relationship and stay with you instead. But because you want to show that love means letting go, you think giving your loved one the freedom to choose is wise, but you feel foolish for doing it.”

“The music video for “Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan” was inspired by true events and features rising influencers Yuan Guinto and Vladia Disuanco, also known as Kyosu and Jaja. Both the song and video were recently released. I hope people check out my tribute song for the broken-hearted. 'Wag Mo Na Siyang Balikan' is available on all streaming platforms,” Denin said.
