Cebu Pacific resumes Sydney flights; PAL vows to help revive travel sector
CEBU Pacific said over the weekend it resumed direct flights from Manila to Sydney, Australia, following the easing of travel restrictions in both countries.
“With this route resumption, we are pleased to fly once again to and from this destination after more than two years. We know that many are excited to visit Sydney’s attractions like the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi beach, Taronga Zoo and many more,” Cebu Pacific chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
“This also allows Filipinos to reunite with friends and family. We will continue working on boosting seamless connections across our network to address demand,” he said.
Cebu Pacific said offers seats to Sydney for as low as P8,999 all-in fare from July 1 to July 6. Travel period is from Feb. 1 up to June 30, 2023.
Sydney requires arriving tourists to present printed copies of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate upon check-in. Travelers should also complete and submit digital passenger declaration form at least 72 hours before departure.
Cebu Pacific said it continues to offer guaranteed low fares to stimulate travel across its flight network which covers the widest Philippine destinations.
It continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety, while it operates with a 100-percent fully vaccinated crew, 95 percent of whom received booster shots.
Meanwhile, the management of Philippine Airlines vowed to support the new administration in reviving the air travel industry.
“PAL commits to the new government to continue serving the air transport needs of the Filipino people as it had done through the last eight decades,” the country’s flag carrier said.
