Shiny, manageable hair sans blow-dry

- By Tet Defensor

WHAT if there was a hair product that could style your hair without the intense blow dryer heat?

We all know that too much direct heat can damage hair but not everyone is gifted with soft and fabulous tresses. Most of us have to deal with hair frizz and unruly curls, so daily blow-drying sessions are necessary.

Hair texture is inborn, however, there are now organic formulations that can naturally soften hair, Tsubaki Brand Manager Gabrielle Lim explained that camellia oil is the secret behind the beautiful and shiny hair of Japanese women.

“They have been using the camellia flower to enrich their hair for over a hundred years. It’s the secret behind salon-quality hair,” she shared.

Tsubaki (pronounced ‘subaki’) in Japanese means camellia and its nutritious components helps keep the hair strong and healthy. The oil has the ability to penetrate the hair shaft to increase strength, and elasticity and reduce breakage. It is high in fatty acids and provides nutrients that keep the hair healthy. It moisturizes the scalp and improves shine without weighing the hair down.

Camellia oil is the main ingredient of Tsubaki, one of the leading hair care products of Japan. The 17-yearold shampoo and conditioner product was formerly carried by the renowned Shiseido label until The Fine Today Group took over the brand’s personal care business in 2021.

Hair junkies in the Philippines swear by Tsubaki’s soft and silky feel. In fact, Filipinos visiting Japan, often hoard bottles of Tsubaki because it was not locally available.

For those who wish to have salonquality hair, the brand released two formulations in the Philippines, the Premiere Moist Repair Rang and Premium Volume Repair Range.

If you blow dry your hair every day, the Premier Most Repair Range is your new best friend. Perfect for frizzy and dry hair, simply apply the shampoo on wet hair and then rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner and rinse. Air dry hair the natural way, without using a blower. Brush and style as usual. Notice how the strands are soft and manageable. The formulation has a damaged sensor that directly nourishes problem areas.

During the launch, the guests witnessed how the product could actually tame frizzy hair. Hair strands were washed and air- dried, using a handheld fan.

“I like how it makes my hair frizz-free. My hair is not straight it’s wavey. Since I started using Tsubaki, I just air dry my hair. It can actually work for you every day because it cuts blow dry time,” remarked Nicole Morales of The Beauty Edit (TBE) a social media platform that “delivers fun, honest, and relevant content about the obsessive world of beauty.” Nicole’s team organized Tsubaki’s launch.

Those with flat hair will benefit from Tsubaki’s Premium Volume Repair Range. Aside from camellia oil, it contains royal jelly and soy protein which are both rich in protein and lipids. Simply shampoo and condition hair as directed, air dry, and notice the light and lustrous feel. The rich nourishing ingredients do not weigh down on the hair.

Both formulations are safe to use every day.
