Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu turns one
THE Radison Blu Hotel Cebu, the newest luxury hotel in the Queen City of the South, marked its first anniversary with a club-inspired party, gathering the metro’s business leaders, socialites and media personalities.
With an art deco motif, the ballroom was transformed to a posh cotton club. The female guests were gamely clad in flapper costumes, feather boas and stunning headdresses, while the men arrived in fedora hats and brogue shoes.
The gala highlighted Radisson Blue Cebu Hotel’s accomplishments including its rank as one of the leading hotels in the Philippines. A five-star international hotel managed by Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific Pty Ltd., it has consistently landed no. 1 in Tripadvisor. com and Guests Services Survey among Carlson hotels in Asia-pacific.
Lyle Lewis, Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu’s general manager and Carlson Hotels vice president for the Philippines and Japan, shared, “Since our hotel opened, we have been delighting guests and steadily increasing our market share in Cebu. Our guest satisfaction scores are among the highest in the region within the Carlson hotel portfolio.” He lauded his team for creating the best experience for their guests, continuously giving them compelling reasons to stay with them again and again.
Lyle led a toast to mark the milestone with Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific president Simon Barlow, SM Hotels and Convention Corp. president Elizabeth Sy, and SM Investment Corp. president Hans Sy.
Simon said they were proud to have the SM Group as a partner for the outstanding hotel with a shared vision of opening more Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson brands in the country.
Socialite-trend setter and lifestyle columnist Tessa Prieto- Valdes was the event’s host; while crooner Richard Poon, Sound of Music’s baroness Lynn Sherman, and the Brass Munkeys provided the entertainment.
As part of the celebration, Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu gave away several prizes, including a three-night stay at an Executive Suite for the best-dressed awardees, Bong Deiparine of Amazing Cebu and socialite Yvette Vass.
A grand fireworks display painted the night sky at the end of the evening.
Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu is situated at the corner of Serging Osmena Boulevard and Juan Luna Avenue, at the center of the city’s major business hubs, entertainment centers, and tourist attractions. It is also adjacent to SM Mall Cebu, which ranks as the 11th largest mall in the world.
