UE, LA SALLE OPEN BID IN SHAKEY’S VOLLEY

UNIVERSITY of the East and De La Salle- Zobel ( DLZ) take on separate rivals today ( Sunday) as they kick off their respective campaigns in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League NCR leg at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. The UE and DLZ tossers are two of the fancied bets in the league with the former clashing with the MGC New Life Christian Academy side at 10 a. m. in Pool B action and the latter colliding with equally tough Elizabeth Seton School side at 11 a. m. in Pool A. Colegio San Agustin ( CSA) and St. James College- Malabon ( SJM0, meanwhile, clash at 9 a. m. in a duel of opening day losers in Pool B while Rizal High School ( RHS) likewise tries to recover lost ground as it tangles with St. James College- Paranaque ( SJP) in Pool A at 8 a. m.

STUDIO 23 TO AIR HEAT-RAPTORS MATCH

THE Miami Heat vs. Toronto Raptors game on February 6, Monday will be telecast on Studio 23 at 9:00 a.m. A primetime telecast of the game will be aired on the same day at 9:30 p.m.

NEW JERSEYS OF BRAZIL’S NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM UNVEILED

RIO DE JANEIRO: Football star Neymar and his Santos teammate Paulo Henrique Ganso on Friday unveiled the new jerseys of Brazil’s national team, which will be used during the London summer Olympics later this year. Neymar, who turns 20 this month, posed with the official yellow jersey while 22- year- old Ganso wore the blue alternativ­e. The new V- neck models feature the sentence “born to play football” on the sleeve. The yellow version drops the green strip found on the chest of the previous model and the blue one no longer sports a yellow strip.
