A ON LAMBORGHINI has lopped the roof off its most potent model and is now presenting the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster—the carmaker’s “most exciting series production model ever built and the new benchmark in the world of open-top luxury super sports cars,” it said.
More than 1,300 examples of the “standard” Aventador have already been delivered since it was introduced in 2011.
The new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster boasts a two-piece roof that is made entirely from carbon-fiber infused with various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite, which guarantee maximum aesthetic performance and stiffness while remaining extremely light; The roof weighs less than six kilos. It can be stored in the front luggage compartment.
The car’s rear pillar was redesigned to support the removable roof, and can accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers as well provide the engine with ample ventilation. And, oh, does it need it.
The Aventador LP700- 4 Roadster’s mid- mounted 6.5- liter, naturally aspirated V12 engine spews out 700 horsepower to an ISR seven-speed gearbox, capable of hurling the car from rest to 100kph in only three seconds flat and on to a maximum speed of around 350kph.
Lamborghinis aren’t called “Raging Bulls” for nothing, and the Aventador is the top bull.
