cockpit arena in the guise of a sports complex],” Lacson told reporters.

He issued the statement in retaliation to Santiago’s earlier pronouncement that she will expose Lacson’s irregularities and real sexuality when he steps down from office.

Lacson described Santiago’s state- ment as “really below the belt” and a “lunatic idea.”

The verbal tussle between the two senators started when Santiago accused Lacson of being an “attack dog” of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.

Lacson, a former Philippine National Police chief, defended Enrile against Santiago’s criticisms over the distribution of additional funds to selected senators.

He also accused Santiago of allegedly using Senate funds for her office’s rental, her housemaid’s salaries and her family’s grocery allowance.

In defending her actions, San- tiago said that the Office of the Senate Secretariat allowed her to rent her own building for her extension office.

Lacson, chairman of the Senate Committee on Accounts, has already submitted before the Ombudsman, documents that could prove his allegations a- gainst Santiago.

The documents include Santiago’s office lease, Securities and Exchange Commission documents indicating ownership of the building where she is renting an office, and her statement of assets, liabilities and net worth, where she declared ownership of the building.
