NLRC commissioner inducted as UP Alpha Phi Beta head
NLRC Commissioner Alex Lopez was inducted by Supreme Court Associate Justice Jose Perez as the new Lord Chancellor to head the UP Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity Inc. in a turnover ceremony in January at the Club Filipino in January. Sen. Chiz Escudero who has headed the fraternity these past four years, passed the gavel and banner of leadership to his successor, Lord Chancellor Alex Lopez.
Also inducted were the new officers namely: Vice Chancellors Percival Rosales, Edwin Dela Cruz and Cecilio Laurente; Sec. Gen. Ferdinand Rivera, trustees Glenn Baroma, Purisimo Buyco, Anthony Dogillo, Ramon Gonzaga, Jr., Eduardo Labitag, Deo Olvina, Edgar Pajaro, Luis Meinrado Pangulayan, Manuel Sanchez, Agaton Uvero and Henry Villarica; Executive Committee members Conrado Zabella, Dominic Candelario Solis, Victor Volfango, Hilarion Ulep; and general counsels Oscar Raro and Victor Pablo Trinidad.
The new set of officers will hold office for two years, and will lead the fraternity in its diamond jubilee year in 2014, to celebrate 75 years of service to the nation and the people. The UP Alpha Phi Beta Inc. is a fraternal order of lawyers, businessmen, government officials and professionals from the University of the Philippines where it was founded in 1939.
