Pacman throws support for 3 bets

- RITCHIE A. HORARIO

GENERAL Santos City: THREE senatorial candidates who don’t belong to the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) will get the endorsement of People’s Champ and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao said that he will personally support the candidacies of Liberal Party (LP) bet Bam Aquino as well as independent candidates Edward Hagedorn and Bro. Eddie Villanueva.

Although Aquino is in the other side of the fence, Pacquiao said he will support the former because he is his friend. In supporting Villanueva, the Boxing champ said the former is “a man of God” being the Supreme Bishop of the Christian group Jesus is Lord (JIL). He, however, did not elaborate why he will be supporting Hagedorn.

Pacquiao came up with the endorsement of the three non-UNA senatorial candidates after the alliance dropped its three guest candidates from its senatorial ticket.

Senatorial candidates Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero and Grace PoeLlamanzares were junked by UNA for failing to attend their campaign sorties.

Pacquiao also assured UNA that he will deliver votes for its senatorial candidates through his endorsement.

“I will be endorsing them (UNA senatorial candidates) not only in General Santos City but in the entire country,” he added.

General Santos City is listed as the 15th most populous city in the Philippines with a population of over 530,000 as of 2010 and a voting population of almost 400,000 as of the same year.

UNA senatorial candidate Nancy Binay said Pacquiao’s endorsement would be a big boost to their campaign.

The leadership of UNA expressed belief that it will deliver a knockout against the administration Team PNoy in General Santos City, especially after the Pacquiao endorsed their senatorial candidates.
