GUNMEN KILL 4 INDON PRISONERS

JAKARTA: Unidentifi­ed gunmen forced their way into an Indonesian jail early Saturday and shot dead four prisoners awaiting trial over the death of a soldier, police said. The prisoners were accused of beating and stabbing to death a soldier from the military’s elite Special Forces Command on Tuesday at a nightclub in Yogyakarta in central Java. Yogyakarta police spokeswoma­n Anny Pudjiastut­i said between 10 and 15 gunmen were involved in the attack on the prisoners at the Cebongan Correction­al Centre after midnight Friday.
