Court issues arrest warrant for Cedric Lee, six others

THE Taguig City Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 74 has ordered the arrest of Cedric Lee and six others for the mauling of actor/TV host Vhong Navarro.

The MTC issued a warrant for the arrest of Lee and Bernice Lee, Deniece Cornejo, Simeon Raz, Jose Paolo Gregorio Calma, Ferdinand Guerrero and Sajed Fernandez Abuhijleh.

The warrant was issued by Judge Bernard Bernal acting on the grave coercion case filed against the suspects by the Department of Justice (DOJ) last week.

Immigration authorities have stopped Guerrero who attempted to leave the country on a Cebu Pacific flight to Hong Kong. Lee reportedly booked a flight to Dubai on the weekend but eventually cancelled it when it was leaked to the media.

The serious illegal detention case against Lee and the others is still on trial and the motion for judicial determination of probable cause filed by Lee is set to be heard on Tuesday. The court has yet to issue a warrant for their arrest. Serious illegal detention is a non-bailable offense.
