Don’t count Miriam out, she’s still in the running – Marcos

-

SENATOR Miriam DefensorSantiago stays in the running for President.

This was the statement made on Tuesday by her vice presidential candidate, Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., saying she and Santiago might just pull a surprise in the May 9 elections.

“Don’t count her out. She is still very much in the running,” Marcos replied when asked about the low ratings of his fellow senator in surveys.

Santiago has consistently lagged

But Marcos said the surveys do because they do not cut across all sectors of society.

the complete picture because don’t think the youth sector where Senator Miriam is strong is being covered much,” he explained.

He noted the many university mock polls where he and Santiago had been consistently topping.

“Don’t say she is out of the running because she and I might just pull a surprise come election day,” Marcos said.

He announced

that he and Santiago are set to hold a campus tour today at the University of the Philippines-Visayas in Jaro, Iloilo.

The UP Iloilo campus tour is the tandem after several weeks.

The tandem was last seen together during the launching of the Youth for Miriam Movement at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City (Metro Manila) on February 15.

Santiago also did not attend the second debate in Cebu City as she was undergoing clinical trial for a new anti-cancer drug.

Marcos conceded that given the health condition of Santiago, they really did not plan to campaign together at all times.

He said it would also be practical for them to campaign separately to cover more areas.
