Meralco rates go down by P0.29 per kWh this May

THE Manila Electric Company ( Meralco) announced that electricit­y rates for a typical household went down this May by P0.29 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for its residentia­l customers. Households consuming 200 kWh will experience a reduction of around P58 in their electricit­y bill.

Meralco Public Informatio­n photo) explained that the overall rate decrease was due to the downward movement in the generation charge. Meralco also gave energy efficiency tips for its customers – like unplugging appliances when not in use, and turning the aircon to 25°C mid-setting – to help them manage their electrical consumptio­n this summer season.
