Munti City Council imposes time limit in computer shops

THREE hours for high school and one hour for elementary students, these are the maximum hours an individual can spend in computer shops in Muntinlupa according to a local ordinance.

Muntinlupa City Council passed owners of computer shops in the city, including those found in noncommerc­ial establishm­ents or residence with computer units for rent, to regulate their scope of operation.

Provision in Section 3 of said ordinance prohibits computer shops to a 24-hour operation and it must only unless accompanie­d by a parent

Computer shop owners are strongly encouraged to implement an age bracket limit, high school and above only, who can access war games and restrict gambling games.

Owners or operators caught in violation of the ordinance shall be - - units for second offence, and P5,000 Permit to Operate for third offence.
