Makati gears up for distribution of free school supplies in public schools

ON the orders of Makati Mayor Abby Binay, the city government has started the delivery of free school supplies to all public schools in the city from elementary to senior high school to ensure that these will be ready for distribution to the students when classes start on June 5.

The implementation of Project Freee (Free Relevant & Excellent Edu - tary schools, 10 high schools and eight senior high schools is funded by the the City Council for the year.

Mayor Abby said the delivery of school supplies to the schools had started last April, and these will be distributed to the students as soon as the schools submit their list of enrolees. or before the second week of June,” Mayor Abby said.

Besides from school supplies, each student will also receive two sets of school uniforms, one P.E jogging pants, two Makati t-shirts, a pair of black leather shoes and a pair of rubber shoes.

Other programs under DepEd Makati with approved budget from the city government this year include Gawad Parangal (awards and incentives for Makati honor graduates), P9.6 million; Mathematical Challenge for Makati Kids Training million; and Alternative Learning

Programs being implemented this year under the city Education Department include the Makati Scholarship Student/Teacher International Participation and Scholarship Program, P8 million, and Search for Ten Outstanding
