Navotas hemodialys­is unit opens

NAVOTAS Mayor John Rey Tiangco has formally opened the hemodialys­is unit at the Navotas City Hospital.

“Based on the Top 10 Mortality and Morbidity Survey, we found that many die because of kidney diseases. Patients also spend so much for dialysis,” Tiangco said.

“Our response had been swift: the establishm­ent of a hemodialys­is unit in our hospital,” he added.

Each session costs P2,600 but patients who have Philhealth cards or have yet to exhaust their free 90 dialysis sessions a year will not be charged.

Senior citizens and persons with disabiliti­es who have exceeded 90 sessions are entitled to 20 percent discount from the standard fee.
