Ateneo de Naga HS 67 Celebrates Golden Jubilee

THE Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) High School Class of 1967 is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. The class has organized a Golf-for-a-Cause tournament to be held on July 19, 2017 at the KC Filipinas Golf Resort Club in San Pedro, Laguna in order to raise funds to cover its various donations, scholarship grants and outreach projects. All the 18 holes have sponsors, thus ensuring the success of the fundraising activity. Major sponsors include, PAGCOR, Powerprobe TEK, Corbridge Group Philippines, McGraw Pharma Inc. and its media sponsor, The Manila Times. ADNU alumni and friends are invited to play in this event.

This fundraiser is among the various projects launched by the class this contest on the late Fr. Godofredo Alingal S.J. He was the high school principal when Class 67 was in its junior and senior years. He was killed by unknown assailants in 1981 while serving as parish priest in Kibawe, Bukidnon. Alingal to house the Graduate School and the newly opened College of Law, HS Class 67 provided funds for the large granite marker fronting the new building and the plaque dedicated in honor of the martyr-priest. The class is also completing its 50th Anniversary Yearbook.

Another project, arranged by class member Atty. Ariel Abonal, is a donation by Chevron Phils. Inc. of its extensive collection of law books. The donation ceremony was held on July 10, 2017 at the new Law Library ADNU President Fr. Primitivo Viray law students and Class 67 members.

The culminating activity of this Batch Golden Jubilee celebration will be the grand reunion on December 27 to 30 at the ADNU main campus in Naga City, which will include another fundraising activity, a concert featuring December 29, 2017.
