Charges readied vs 14 Parojinog men
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Misamis Occidental police are preparing charges against 14 people arrested during the simultaneous raid of the Parojinog houses in Ozamiz City, where Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife and siblings were killed in an alleged early dawn on Sunday.

Garcia said the suspects were not among the 11 others arrested along with Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and not subjects of the search warrant issued by Quezon City regional trial court.
“Some of the suspects were caretakers, houseboys, and security men [of the Parojinog family],” Garcia said in a radio report monitored from here.

The mayor, along with his wife Susan; brother Octavio, a provincial board member; sister Mona, and 11 others were killed in an alleged shoot out with the raiding team in Barangay San Roque, Lawis where the Parojinogs reside.
Neighbors who reportedly witnessed the raid, however, claimed there was no shootout and it was the raiding team that fired and lobbed a grenade at the house of Mayor Parojinog.

The bodies of the Parojinogs were transferred from Gamalinda Funeral Home there to San Roque for the wake upon instructions of arrested Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog to relatives in Ozamiz City.
The vice mayor said her father had told them that if he would die, he would want his body to be buried in Barangay San Roque to be with the people of Lawis.
