HVT DRUG DEALER, 6 OTHERS BUSTED IN BACOLOD

BACOLOD CITY: Police arrested on Wednesday night one of the top high-value targets (HVTs) with six others from prominent clans here in a buy-bust inside a downtown hotel. Bacolod City Police Office acting director Supt. Jack Wanky identified the target subject as Dindo Barcillo of Talisay City, a level 2 HVT of Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region. The six others arrested were Niko Manuel Luis Lizares, Karl Ocampo, Mikael Nicholas Zayco, Marvin Magno, Mariano Villarosa and Robert John Herman. They were reportedly caught in the act of sniffing shabu from an improvised tooter. Wanky said two big sachets of shabu worth P100,000; an improvised .38 caliber revolver; ammunition and the P500 marked money were seized from Barcillo. Also confiscate­d were several small and big sachets of shabu, a weighing scale and drug parapherna­lia from the other suspects.

GOAT THIEVES WITH SHABU NABBED IN LA UNION

BACNOTAN, La Union: Five persons trying to transport stolen goats were arrested in an anti-drug checkpoint along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion on Wednesday. Chief Inspector Reynaldo Soria, town police chief, identified the suspects who are all from Pangasinan as Willy Fernandez, 43, of Alibago, Santa Barbara; Boyet Flores, 35, of Casanglaan, Dagupan City; Jose Estacio, 43, of Pantal, Dagupan City; Bernie Zabala, 48, of Mayombo District, Dagupan City; and Jonathan Osilla, 34, of Maminding, Santa Barbara. Soria said the suspects, who were onboard a green Toyota Corolla (TAN 855) driven by Zabala, were stopped at the checkpoint and four goats were found inside the car with the suspects. After an hour, a man arrived reporting his missing goats. Further inspection of the car yielded a matchbox that contained three sachets of shabu, two kitchen knives, three cellphones and a lighter. One of the suspects confessed they were about to deliver the goats to a restaurant in Dagupan City. La Union police are checking if the suspects are responsibl­e for several incidents involving stolen goats from local farms and if they are members of a robbery gang based in Mabini and Pozzorubio towns in Pangasinan.
