-

THE BPI Philippine Consumer Equity Index Fund, a unit investment trust fund (UITF) established and managed by BPI Asset Management and Trust Corporation (BPI AMTC), has surpassed the P1 billion level, posting P1.25 billion in total assets as of April 2018.

The BPI Philippine Consumer Equity Index Fund invests in corporations that are part of the consumer industry, having at least 50 percent of its revenue being derived from consumer products or services or at least 50 percent of the fair value of its net assets being utilized for consumerrelated business activities.

Last year, the fund ended with a 14.44 percent net return to investors since its inception in January 2017. This was due to the strong growth momentum of the Philippine economy driven by resilient consumption and accelerated investments.

Mario Miranda, the BPI AMTC president, said the company hopes to make every investor optimistic of the stock market through passively-managed peso equity funds in the country such as the BPI Philippine Consumer Equity Index Fund. BPI AMTC has the most comprehensive line of index funds and products which cover major asset classes, various industries, both domestic and global.

The BPI Philippine Consumer Equity Index Fund is available to investors for a minimum investment amount of P10,000. It is offered in all BPI and BPI Family Savings Bank branches, BPI Express Online, or BPI Express Mobile App.
