INGUITO RULES MOTOIR 3RD RD

- MIKE POTENCIANO

JOHN Emerson Inguito of 4S1M-Yamaha Team won the third round of the Shell Advance MotoIR staged recently at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga, amid strong competition and a late afternoon wet race.

The MotoIR1 winner Inguito prevailed over an equally skilled April King Mascardo of Suzuki-VMan Team. However, there was a four-way battle for the win.

The winner of the first two rounds, Herbert Lopez and MotoIR2 rider Robert Ryan Espiritu showed their strength as they formed the lead pack in the first part of the race. All three are 4S1M-Yamaha Team riders using Yamaha YZF-R15 race bikes.

Mascardo overtook Espiritu, and Lopez and went on to chase Inguito. Mascardo took the lead eventually but Inguito’s remarkable riding skills enabled him to regain the lead again in a great seesaw battle. Inguito finally won the race with a very slim 0.092-second margin over Mascardo to the loud cheers of spectators. Inguito also registered the best lap time of 2:20.219.

Third place went to a dejected Lopez. The Suzuki-VMan riders were on board Suzuki GSX-R150 motorcycles.

The 4S1M-Yamaha rider Espiritu scored his first win in the MotoIR2 class for intermediate riders this year. The current MotoIR2 class champion was able to keep up with the pace of the expert MotoIR1 riders for some laps.

Another YZF-R15 rider Amber Torres, the first and second round MotoIR2 winner, was not able to finish the race and was out after the second lap.

Mark Djereck Ondillo of Suzuki-VManTeam got the win in MotoIR3 class that features novice and beginner riders. It was a 1-2 finish for Suzuki-VMan as Dan Carlo Alvarado finished second. PhoenixYamaha-KOSO-Faito’s John Paul Suba finished third but had a position penalty because of a broken tail light. Newbie rider Jan Olivier Mercado took third on a stock Yamaha YZF-R15.
