Pimentel and Yu will have a relatively small wedding given the groom’s political stature, with 450 carefully selected guests expected at the Coconut Palace.

With a Filipiniana motif, owing to the couple’s fondness for Filipino food (“Bistek Tagalog, our favorite dish, will be the main course,” shared Yu), President Rodrigo Duterte leads the list of principal sponsors.

The lineup also includes Senate President Vicente Sotto 3rd and his wife Helen Gamboa, Sen. Manny Pacquiao and wife Jinkee, representatives Yedda Marie Romualdez and Pantaleon Alvarez, and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.

Pimentel’s sons Martin and Akio will take on the tasks of ring and Bible bearers, respectively.

Celebrated chef Florabel Yatco takes charge of the menu, and master cake maker and decorator Penk Ching will whip up a surprise for the wedding cake.
