Winning ‘hearts’
THE Manila Times received a jubilant email from GMA Corporate Communications, proudly sharing the back- to- back triumphs of the Kapuso network across various award giving bodies.
Leading the winning list is veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho who emerged as the first- ever recipient of the Outstanding Media Practitioner award at the 3rd Gawad Midya of De La Salle University’s Student Media Office.
Resident meteorologist Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz, on the other hand, was given the Dangal ng Lipi Award by the Provincial Government of Bulacan, the recognition given by the province to a Bulakenyo who has excelled in his profession.
At the first “Bantog: The Science for the People Media Awards” by the Science and Technology Information Institute ( DOST- STII) public affairs personality Connie Sison was conferred the Professional Award for Media Practitioner in Television for her program “Pinoy MD.”
The following personalities and programs were also honored at the 2018 ComGuild Media Awards, chosen by a board of college deans and members of the academe from different universities, namely: Vicky Morales won as Most Outstanding Female News Presenter of the Year for “24 Oras,” Marisol Abdurahman as Best Female Field Reporter, Alden Richards as Most Popular Television Personality, “Unang Hirit” as Best Morning Show, Chris Tiu and I- Bilib as Best Educational Program and Best Educational Program Host, “Taste Buddies” as Best Lifestyle Program and hosts Solenn Heussaff and Rhian Ramos as Best Hosts, news pillar Mike Enriquez as Best AM Radio Anchor, and DZBB’s “Super Balita sa Umaga” as Best AM Radio Program.
