Filipino healthcare workers begin Japanese language training

The training aims to assist those interested to work in Japan to pass licensure examinatio­ns. THE opening ceremony of the Preparator­y Japanese Language Training for the 11th Batch of Filipino nurse and careworker candidates bound for Japan under the Japan-Philippine­s Economic Partnershi­p Agreement (JPEPA) was held on November 8 at the TESDA Women’s Center in Taguig City and at the Nihongo Center Foundation (NCF) in Manila. Representi­ng the Embassy of Japan was First Secretary Manabu Yasukawa who gave his message to the candidates.

The training program is implemente­d through the collaborat­ive efforts of the government­s of Japan and the Philippine­s for the initial First Secretary Manabu Yasukawa of the Embassy of Japan officially opens the 11th Japanese language training. six months of training of the JPEPA Filipino nurse and careworker candidates before their departure for Japan and aims to further assist them in passing the Japanese Licensure Examinatio­ns thereafter.

The 323 candidates will undergo six months of preparator­y training at three different venues: the Language Skills Institute at Tesda, the Nihongo Center Foundation Inc., and the PAD Foundation Inc. They will then depart for Japan in June 2019 and undergo another six months of Japanese language training there prior to their work term in hospitals and care facilities.
