Dennis, JC all praises for 'Chinita Princess'
REGAL Entertainment’s entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), “One Great Love,” brings together three of the best actors of this generation from two different networks — Dennis Trillo, who is from GMA Network, and Kim Chiu and JC de Vera from ABS- CBN.
This project is a dream-come-true for both Trillo and de Vera, who both wanted to work with the country’s “Chinita Princess.” It was previously reported that
Trillo is an admirer of Chiu, which is why when the story was pitched to the Kapuso actor, he immediately accepted the project.
The same is true for de Vera who happens to be a ' transeferee' from GMA himself. But while he and Chiu belong to one network, de Vera was unsure they would ever be paired. Thankfully, One Great Love made his dream come true.

In the movie, all three take on roles that get entangled in a love triangle.
Chiu plays the role of Zyra Paez, a woman who believes that love will complete her and will bring her joy. De Vera is Carl Mauricio, who is Zyra’s one great love. However, because of Carl’s turbulent past, he unintentionally keeps hurting the woman he loves. Trillo, on the other hand, is Ian Arcano, Zyra’s dependable friend, who eventually falls in love with her. These three lives are intertwined in a story that reveals that like all human beings, people seek for love, but everyone see it differently.

Kahit tapos na yung shooting talagang nag babantay editing, inaalam niya kung anong magandang soundtrack ang gagamitin. Daig pa niya yung producer, sobrang saya namin na tutok siya para dito sa pelikula,” Trillo shared during the film’s press conference on December 4 at Valencia Events Place. “Si Kim, sobrang versatile niya na artista. Nakita ko yung mga projects na ginawa niya noon, talagang offer kaya dapat makita ninyo yung performance niya dito,” he added. work with everyone.

So sobrang excited talaga ako na mapanood ng mga tao dahil kahit ako na- excite sa naging outcome ng pelikula,” Chiu enthused.
“Lahat sila first time ko makatrabaho kagaya ni direk, si Dennis naman hindi ko lubos maisip na magkikita kami para sa isang proyekto and I am very honored na makatrabaho ko siya kasi iba siya. Magaling po talaga siyang aktor, sobrang tahimik niya lang na tao, pero pagdating sa take, iba po talaga, para po talaga kaming mag-bestfriend doon. And si JC rin, ngayon ko lang siya nakatrabaho. Walang problema, walang naging aberya, and dahil doon, ang ganda talaga ng nangyari sa project,” Chiu said.
Meanwhile, Quizon, the film’s director, also dished out why he considers it a joy to be directing the three actors. For one, he called all of them as genuine and professional actors.
“Chemistry between the actors of One Great Love came easy because they are all genuinely sincere actors. Walang mga arte and true to their craft. And I can tell that they all love their work. Walang ‘divaness’ factor silang lahat. Usually, doon lang naman talaga lumalabas ang awkwardness, pag may mga feeling sa artista. I am so lucky that I worked with proffesional actors,” Quizon pointed out.
Level up acting
Quizon, then admitted that Chiu was nervous for the film to come out because it was her first time to do love scenes. But like a true professional, she still went on and did the intimate scenes.
“Like what I said, if an actor is sincere and is passionate about the craft, it doesn’t become a challenge. It becomes easy not just for the director and staff, but to the actors involved. Of course, you hear Kim shriek after the scene because she is already anticipating what her fans will think,” he said.
Taking pride in saying that the main actors leveled up as actors in the movie, he said, “A more mature Kim showcasing her disctinct acting prowess. A suave convincing JC, who looks good in uniform, which I am certain women will fall in love with. Dennis leaves a solid mark as a great dramatic actor with his minimalist performance. This is a different kind of love story with all the twists, kilig, hugot and puso.”
One Great Love, which opens in cinemas on December 25, also stars Quizon portraying Dante Paez, Zyra’s loving father; Nina Dolino as Annie Paez, Dante’s second wife; Miles Ocampo as Jemi Paez; sister of Zyra; and Marlo Mortel as Bryan Gomez, a loving free-spirited guy who falls in love with Jemi.
