QC Anti-Drug Abuse Council hailed most effective
QUEZON City Anti-Drug Abuse Advisory Council (QCADAAC) was hailed as the most effective anti-drug abuse advisory group in the country by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the 1st National Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Awards held at the Manila Hotel on Dec. 28.
Among its achievements, QCADAAC successfully transformed 23 villages ( into becoming drug-free communities, while total of 560 drug “surrenderees” throughout the city have also undergone rehabilitation programs.
Anti-Drug Committee Chairperson Coun. Gian Sotto acknowledged the effort of the city government as well as its partner civil society and religious groups in trying to rid the city of illegal drugs.
“As head of CADAAC, the most important deed Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte committed is saving lives and making sure that victims of illegal drugs return safely to the community and to their families,” Sotto said.
