QC Anti-Drug Abuse Coun­cil hailed most ef­fec­tive

QUE­ZON City Anti-Drug Abuse Ad­vi­sory Coun­cil (QCADAAC) was hailed as the most ef­fec­tive anti-drug abuse ad­vi­sory group in the coun­try by the Depart­ment of the In­te­rior and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment (DILG) dur­ing the 1st Na­tional Anti-Drug Abuse Coun­cil Per­for­mance Awards held at the Manila Ho­tel on Dec. 28.

Among its achieve­ments, QCADAAC suc­cess­fully trans­formed 23 vil­lages ( into be­com­ing drug-free com­mu­ni­ties, while to­tal of 560 drug “sur­ren­derees” through­out the city have also un­der­gone re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion pro­grams.

Anti-Drug Com­mit­tee Chair­per­son Coun. Gian Sotto ac­knowl­edged the ef­fort of the city gov­ern­ment as well as its part­ner civil so­ci­ety and re­li­gious groups in try­ing to rid the city of il­le­gal drugs.

“As head of CADAAC, the most im­por­tant deed Vice Mayor Joy Bel­monte com­mit­ted is sav­ing lives and mak­ing sure that vic­tims of il­le­gal drugs re­turn safely to the com­mu­nity and to their fam­i­lies,” Sotto said. Que­zon City Coun­cilor Gian Sotto (2nd, L) re­ceives the 2018 Na­tional Anti-Drug Abuse Coun­cil Per­for­mance Award from the DILG for its anti- drug abuse pro­grams.
