- JEREMIAH M. SEVILLA

FINAL Four contenders University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and San Sebastian College-Recoletos clash in a crucial match in Season 94 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) women’s volleyball tournament today at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan City.

Game starts 12 noon, with the winner boosting its semifinal bid.

The Lady Altas are standing on the fourth spot with a 4-3 record while the Lady Stags are sitting on a joint fifth with Jose Rizal University (JRU) with a similar 4-4 card.

Perpetual Help saw its three- game winning streak end as it suffered a 25-18, 16-25, 19-25, 24-26 to defending champion Arellano University last Thursday.

Cindy Imbo, Inna Suico and Bianca Tripoli are expected to lift the Las Piñas-based squad back to the winning track.

But the skidding San Sebastian is also bent on scoring a comeback win.

After notching four victories in their first five games, the Lady Stags suddenly suffered a three- game losing skid via sweeps at the hands of JRU, San Beda

University and College of Saint Benilde (CSB).

A fourth consecutive loss will kick San Sebastian out of the Final Four picture.

Joyce Sta. Rita and Maryrhose Dapol are tabbed to lead the charge as the volleybelles from Recto try to stay in the playoff race.

Meanwhile, St. Benilde (7-1) seeks to secure the second spot when it takes on the eliminated Mapua University ( 1- 7) in the 2 p. m. tiff.

The Lady Blazers snatched the No. 2 seat from San Beda with a winner- over-the- other edge after cruising to their seventh win in a row at the expense of San Sebastian, 25-17, 25-16, 25-14, last Friday.

An eighth straight victory will give CSB a twicetobeat advantage in the Final Four.
