FORMER special assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has two wishes for Filipinos this year: peace and progress.

Go on Tuesday greeted Chinese-Filipinos during the celebration of Chinese New Year.

“Sapagpasokng Lunar New Year, kasamaninyoakonanananalanginna sanaaymakamtannanatinangmatagal nanatingminimithingkapayapaanat pag-unladparanarinmaiangatnatinang kabuhayanngatingmgakababayan ( With the advent of the Lunar New Year, I join you in praying that we will finally have peace and progress so that the lives of our people would be uplifted),” he said.

Go, who is seeking a Senate seat in this year’s midterm election, is optimistic that his wishes will come true, citing the initiatives being pushed by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Ad’yanpoyung‘ Build, Build, Build’ program paramagpatayongmgakailangang infrastructure sapag-unladngatingbayanat kabuhayan.Sakabilangbanda, bukaspoay itutuloyangikalawangyugtongplebisito parasa ratification ng Bangsamoro Organic Law nainaasahannatingmagdadalang kapayapaansa Mindanao (There’s the Build, Build, Build program under which construction projects will be constructed, and the second plebiscite to ratify the Bangsamoro Organic Law that we hope would bring peace in Mindanao),” Go said.

Go has vowed to support the programs of President Rodrigo Duterte, particularly the campaign against illegal drugs, criminality and corruption.

His legislative agenda includes programs for health, agriculture, education, housing, long-term sports development, fire protection and prevention, localized peace talks, and improved benefits for senior citizens.
