Aftershocks continue in Surigao del Norte
A SERIES of aftershocks from the magnitude 5.9 earthquake recorded on Friday continues to hit Surigao del Norte province in southern Mindanao, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology ( Phivolcs).
The latest aftershock was recorded at magnitude 2.3 at 1:24 p.m., but the strongest felt on Sunday was magnitude 4.5 at 11:06 a.m., Phivolcs said.
This aftershock was of tectonic origin and recorded at 47 kilometers northeast of General Luna, Surigao del Norte with a depth of 6 kilometers.
The strongest aftershocks after Friday were two magnitude 4.9 quakes recorded on Saturday at 5: 09 a. m. and 5: 48 a. m.
