MORE FIRES REPORTED IN BAGUIO

BAGUIO CITY: The Baguio Fire Department (BFD) reported 26 fire incidents here since the start of the year compared to only 10 during the same period last year. Senior Fire Officer 2 Camilo Balancia said of the 26 incidents, 21 were grass fires, two were structural and vehicular fires and one was a garbage fire. In 2017, the BFD said 75 fires resulted in over P11.9 million worth of damages to properties; 50 of these incidents were structural fires. Last year, Balancia said there were 79 fires that caused over P22.6 million worth of damages to properties with a single fatality; 41 of these were structural or forest fires. For January and February, there were 16 fire incidents.
