Mega City to create 100k jobs

-

THE soon-to-rise 400-hectare Bulacan Mega City that will be constructed in three municipalities of the province — Pandi, Balagtas and Bocaue — is expected to create 100,000 jobs for Bulacan residents.

Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado appointed former Pandi mayor Enrico Roque to start preliminary negotiations for the project with a group of Chinese investors from Hunan Province in China, who are eyeing to invest P50 billion in Bulacan after the signing of a sisterhood agreement between the two provinces on Oct. 16, 2018 at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.

The governor and Bulacan Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando signed the agreement with Xu Dazhe, governor of Hunan Province.

The project, which is expected to start in March, will be called the Bulacan Mega City Pandi Economic Zone where the Philippine International Outlet Stores, a shopping mall, techno hub, factory outlets, industrial factories, warehouse and call centers will be located.

Roque said the plan for the Mega City project, including the Pandi Exit of the North Luzon Expressway, which was 900 meters to Pandi, 150 meters to Balagtas, 220 meters to Bocaue,16 kilometers to Angat and 15 km to Bustos, was almost 90 percent complete.

“On its expected groundbreaking in March, big companies, including Sta. Lucia Group of Companies, SM (Prime Holdings Inc.) and St. Luke’s, will be there to support us and generate 100,000 job opportunities for Bulakenyos,” he added.

The development will connect the Metro Rail Transit 7-San Jose del Monte City-Trinoma Railway.
