DUTERTE OKS LAW TO CREATE PHILIPPINE TRAINING CENTER
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law establishing the Philippine Sports Training Center (PTSC) which will be the official home and primary venue of the development of athletes included in the country’s national teams.
Duterte signed Republic Act no. 11214, or the PTSC Act, on February 14, copies of which were given five days after.
The state of the art training center will also contribute to sports science and research as the national sports training institution.
It will have a funding of P3.5 billion, included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Other amount necessary for other provisions of the act, including the maintenance, operation and management of the PSTC will be included in the budget of the PSC.
It will be assisted by the

It will also house judo, karatedo, lawn tennis, muay thai, pencak silat, petanque, rugby, sambo, shooting, softball, soft tenni, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu.

The law is a consolidation of House BIll no. 5615 and Senate BIll no. 1716, which were passed on December 10, 2018 and December 6, 2018 respectively.
