MANHUNT ON AGAINST SUSPECT IN RADIO COMMENTATOR KILLING
The Philippine National Police in Caraga Region (PNP-Region 13) intensified its manhunt operations against the suspect in stabbing to death of Francisco Patindol, radio commentator of DXJM-Butuan City. P/Brig. Gen. Gilbert Cruz, PNP-Region 13 director, has ordered on Sunday the arrest of Ulating Macarampat Barapangkat, alias Ola Saransamen. The Butuan City Police Office also activated a Special Investigation Task Group headed by P/Lt. Col. Glenn Sampaga to look into the case. Patindol, 52, of Barangay San Ignacio, Butuan City was in Narra Road, Barangay New Society Village, Butuan City on Black Saturday when the suspects approached and stabbed him with a knife hitting him on the left chest. He was declared dead at Manuel J. Santos Hospital in Butuan City. Reports added that the suspect was under the influence of liquor when he attacked and killed the victim. Meanwhile, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines said the killing of Patindol was not work-related, while the PNP in the region was still conducting an investigation.
