on cutting-edge technology to build an extensive database of clients and information, Genil says the company’s distinct advantage still lies in its intimate connection with local talent pools. He believes personal assessment and connection with clients will not change despite advances in technology. Genil admits he never harbored a definite success scenario. All he wanted was to provide a good life for his family. The transition from human resource practitioner to chief executive of a company was something he never envisioned, but when the opportunity presented itself, he felt ready and primed to push forward.

It’s this pragmatism that has marked many of Genil’s life decisions. He married townmate Dori Anuran at 23, never doubting he could provide for their family. “If all else failed, I knew how to drive, so I could be a taxi driver and still provide for my family,” he says with a chuckle.

Alex and Dori have made it a priority to raise good children. “There were a few opportunities for an even faster career growth that I let go because my family would be affected. I have always drawn the line between my obligation to them and my work responsibilities,” Genil says.

The couple has four children: Marella, 36, a human resource executive at

Hector, 33, a stock market trader; Vincent, 32, a senior business analyst/ information technology consultant for finance and insurance giant AIG; and

Genil remains a (one who hasn’t lost his/her countryside ways) at heart and his devotion to his family, both immediate and extended, has kept him grounded. He acknowledges that many people have helped him thrive and reach the corporate pinnacle. And that is why Genil wants to be a blessing to others.

“I am a development person and always will be. My role as a leader is to create an environment where everyone will prosper. I believe in inclusive growth for all,” Genil says. “It is my way of paying back to the ecosystem that I am part of.”
