WCOPA champion banners PSL Class BC MOS winners

WORLD Championsh­ip of Performing Arts (WCOPA) champion Marielle Montenegro led the list of Most Outstandin­g Swimmer (MOS) awardees in Class B and C of the 166th Philippine Swimming League (PSL) National Series held at the Diliman Preparator­y School swimming pool in Quezon City.

Montenegro, an Angeles City Swimming Team standout, collected 50 points to win the MOS plum in the girls’ 13-year category of the two-day meet supported by TheManilaT­imes.

Recently, Montenegro copped gold medals in WCOPA held in Long Beach California.

Also winning MOS awards in their respective age-bands were Marcus Red Dula (boys’ 7-year), Shilo Paul Laurente (boys’ 10-year) and Asael Aman (boys’ 9-year).

The other MOS winners in Class C were Enzo Balagtas (boys’ 7-year), Alvine Jacinto (girls’ 8-year), Jazmine Cudilla (girls’ 9-year), Justin Balagtas at Ervin Villareal (boys’ 9-year), Julia Ballena ( girls’ 10- year), Dana Jace Ugay (girls’ 11-year), Venzel Corpuz ( boys’ 11- year), Chelsea Mendoza

- tion (boys’ 12-year), Ley Audric Moraga (boys’ 13-year), Saccerine Lalog (girls’ 14-year), Mark Hoober (boys’ 14-year), Cristy Carias (girls’ 15-over) and Miguel Esmundo (boys’ 15-over).

“Part of the program is to develop these Class B and C swimmers to be an elite swimmer (Class A). It’s a stepby-step process but we are on track and right direction. We will continue this grassroots developmen­t program pioneered by my sister coach Susan Papa,” said PSL president Alexandre Papa.

In Class B, the MOS winners were Ania Novero (7), Jamie Cudilla (8), Cielo Espiritu (9), Deina Randelle and Angela Gavica ( 10), Nicole Camacho (11), Rica De Silva (12), Alexis Dumaguit (13), Maria Angela Bernal (14) and Julia Abin (15-over) in girls; and Vonzen Corpuz ( 8), Master Charles Janda ( 10), Ethan Dulin (11), Trigg Valdez (12), Paulo Donato ( 13), Sebastian Catotocan (14) and John Leo Paul Salibio (15over) in boys.
