Acting and musical wins from the ‘heart’
ON its yearlong celebration of its 70th anniversary, GMA Network takes bigger pride in accolades that have been given to their stars just in the first month of 2020.
Leading the honor roll are the Kapuso programs and personalities recognized at the 11th Star Awards for Music at SM North Skydome in Quezon City.
Asia’s Pop Diva Julie Anne San Jose won the “Female Pop Artist of the Year- People’s Choice Award” for her single “Regrets.”
Asia’s Multimedia Star and “The Gift” lead actor Alden Richards took home the “Pop Album of the Year” for “Until I See

nYou Again” under GMA Music.
Winning the “Male Recording Artist of the Year” was Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista for his song ‘ “AkingMahal.”
‘The Clash’ season 1 alumnus and Kapuso Soul Balladeer, Garrett Bolden, in turn, bagged “New Male Recording Artist of the Year” for his single “LilipadNa” under GMA Music, while Ex Battalion won “Rap Artist of the Year” for ‘Superhero Mo’ under GMA Music as well.
Meanwhile, San Jose also took home two top honors at the 5th Wish Music Awards. She was named ” Wishers’ Choice” and received the “Silver Elite
nTV Actor of the Year Ken Chan
Award” for her popular rendition of the Parokya ni Edgar hit, “Your Song.” As of this writing, her Wish 107.5 Bus Performance of the single has already reached over 31.7 million views on YouTube.
At the first-ever VP Choice Awards of VillagePipol magazine, GMA Network was recognized the “TV Station of the Year.”
Rounding off the list of winners were Richards again who was named “Movie Actor of the Year” for the box- office movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” while versatile actor Ken Chan won “TV Actor of the Year” for his exceptional role in the top-rating Afternoon Prime series “My Special Tatay.”
