3 dead, 9 injured in Kalinga car mishap

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela: Three teachers were confirmed dead while nine others were seriously injured, including a nurse, on Friday night after the passenger van they were riding skidded off the road and turned over in Tanudan, Kalinga.

Col. Job Russel Balaquit, Kalinga police provincial director, identified the fatalities as Roderick Sucliyao, Crisencia Wandag Cayangao and Marcelina Dupagan Sapon.

Injured were Arriane Katlyn Dalanao, Hubert Abuwac, Ralyn

Lugao Dao- Ayan, James Ballay Abuwac, Leonida Abuwac Puctiyao, Alister Dalanao, Francisca Addagan, Nathaniel Dalanao Jr., and the van’s driver, Fernando Salvador.

Investigat­ion showed that the passenger van was traveling along the road in Sitio Lonnog in Barangay Mabaca when the driver lost control of the steering wheel.

The injured passengers were brought to nearby hospitals.
